Understanding FCEF
FCEF comprises of nine councils that represent various sectors, industries, and organizational sizes. These councils play a crucial role in addressing the specific needs and concerns of their respective sectors. Let’s explore some of the key councils:
Business Disaster Resilience Council (BDRC)
Established in 2016 following the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Winston, BDRC focuses on facilitating coordination between the private sector, National Disaster Management, UN agencies, and humanitarian actors. It aims to enhance disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. BDRC provides toolkits for Small Medium Enterprises and conducts disaster risk reduction training. In 2024, the council endeavors to accomplish greater objectives through strategic planning of activities and enhanced interactions.
