Empowering Voices at WIN Convention 2025

March 10, 2025

With only 15 days remaining until the WIN Convention 2025, anticipation is building as we prepare to engage in a diverse array of discussions at the convention. In the lead-up to this significant event for the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council (WEBC), we are excited to introduce our keynote speaker and a distinguished session speaker.

Her Excellency Julie Le Saos will have the honor of opening this year’s convention. Appointed as the Ambassador of France to Fiji in August 2024, Ambassador Le Saos brings a wealth of diplomatic experience to the event. Prior to her current role, she served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of France in Australia from 2020 to August 2024. Her extensive career includes positions such as Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C. (2016–2020), roles within the Strategic, Security, and Disarmament Department (2013–2016), and the United Nations and International Organizations Department (2012–2013) of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Le Saos has also contributed her expertise at the French Embassy in Tokyo (2010–2012), the Alliance Française network and UNESCO in Beijing, the Delegation of the European Union in Montevideo, and the French Embassy in Santiago de Chile. She is a graduate of the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and the Institut des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO).

Another highlight of the convention will be Major Ana Rokomokoti, who will speak during Session 5 on the theme “Women in Discipline Forces: Breaking Barriers and Leading the Charge.” Major Rokomokoti serves as an Assistant Professor in Law at the Fiji National University, where she is the Head of Law within the College of Humanities, Education, and Law. Her academic journey began at Adi Cakobau School, followed by the University of the South Pacific’s Foundation Social Science Program. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Laws from the University of Tasmania and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University. Additionally, she holds a Master of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington.

Admitted to the Roll of Barristers and Solicitors at the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory, the High Court of Australia, and the High Court of Fiji, Major Rokomokoti has held various pivotal roles throughout her career. These include Officer of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), prosecutor in General Courts Martial in Fiji and Field General Courts Martial in Peacekeeping Areas of Operation, defense lawyer and litigator, Resident Magistrate, Chief Registrar of the High Court of Fiji, Acting Chief Magistrate, diplomat, and academician. Notably, during her tenure as Chief Registrar, she established the Legal Practitioners Unit, which continues to operate today. An accredited mediator with the Fiji Mediation Center, Major Rokomokoti has been instrumental in the development and accreditation of Fiji National University’s Law programs, overseeing the graduation of pioneer LLB and GDLP cohorts.
